What are the Kinds of MOMA Scholarships?

Scholarships in form of financial aid are very important for those students who are meritorious but due to lack of financial resources are unable to continue their education. Ministry of Minority Affairs, Govt. of India has launched scholarships for students of minority community on merit cum means basis and the scholarships are commonly known as MOMA Scholarship.


MOMA scholarship is offered to students of minority community in India and it includes Muslims, Sikhs, Christians, Buddhists and Zoroastrians. MOMA Scholarship is divided into three parts and aims at covering students at all levels of education.

There are for three types of scholarships that are given under the Ministry of Minority Affairs Scholarships commonly known as MOMA Scholarship. They are as follows –
  • Pre Matric Scholarship
  • Post Matric scholarship
  • Means cum merit scholarship scheme
 
Pre Matric Scholarship- Pre Matric Scholarship was started by the Ministry of Minority affairs in the 20080-09 and it provides financial assistance to students of Class 1-10 who are studying in government or recognized private schools in India. The scheme is valid for those students whose annual family income is not more than Rs. 1 Lac. Under this scholarship the selected students are provided with the admission fees (for class 6-10), tuition fees (for class 6-10), and maintenanceallowance (for class 1-10) on a monthly basis

In 2012-13 more than 64 lakh students were provided with the Pre Matric Scholarship.

Post matric scholarships - Post Matric Scholarship was started by the Ministry of Minority Affairs in 2007-08 and it provides financial aid to students of minority community from Class 11 to Ph.D level studying in Government or recognized private schools, colleges, universities.  It also includes technical/ vocational courses/ ITI. It doesn’t include scholarship for LLB, MBA, MCA, BE & MBBS. To avail this scholarship the annual parent’s income should not exceed Rs. 2 Lacs.

Merit cum means scholarship scheme- Merit cum means scholarship is awarded to the students of minority community for undergraduate and post graduate courses like Engineering/ Architecture/ MBBS/ Medical & Para Medical Courses/ Veterinary Sc. & Animal Husbandry/ CA/CS/ ICWA/ Fashion Technology/ Design/ Pharmacy/ Law/ Management/MCA. The annual family income should not exceed Rs. 2.5 Lacs for availing this scholarship. The scholarship is awarded to 20,000 students every year and out of this 30% scholarships are reserved for girl students.

There are many students who drop out of their school every year due to many reasons and lack of financial resources is also one of the major reasons for the dropout. The scholarships like MOMA scholarship can help meritorious students to continue their studies by providing financial aid to students in need.

SOF Results of IMO, NSO and IEO (level 2) To Be Declared By Mid Of March 2018

SOF Results SOF results for 2 nd level exam are going to be declared by the mid of March 2018 . The score cards will be released by the SOF (Science Olympiad Foundation). The applicants who have appeared for the 2 nd level exam and are waiting for their results then they can get it whenever it is available.
