All India Pre-Veterinary Test (AIPVT) is a national level exam for filling 15% of the total seats available in Veterinary Colleges in India. Approximately 258 seats in Veterinary colleges in India will be filled by AIPVT 2015 entrance exam. The exam enables student to get admission in the first year of five year Bachelor of Veterinary and Animal Husbandry programme (B.V.Sc. & A.H.) which includes compulsory six month internship Generally the exam is conducted by Veterinary Council of India (VCI) but as per the recent meeting held on January 15, 2015 of Veterinary Council of India in Nagpur, Maharashtra, there is a possibility that exam might be conducted by CBSE. Central Board of Secondary Education is actively engaged in the discussion regarding organizing the exam this year and the council will be informed as soon as anything regarding the conducting body will be finalized.
AIPVT Admission notification was released on March 02, 2015 according to which in 2015 the exam will be conducted on June 20, 2015 at the designated centers between 2PM-5PM. Other details regarding the details of AIPVT exam including the detailed brochure will be released on any day in the first week of April 2015.
Till now the exam was organised by Veterinary Council of India and is the format of the exam was Pen & Paper based exam where the answers will be marked on the OMR Sheet. Details regarding the eligibility criteria for the exam are as follow:
- Residents only from India are allowed to participate in the exam.
- The student must be of 17 years or above at the time of application.
- The student must have studied Chemistry, Physics and Biology along with English at +2 level or equivalent.
- In the intermediate level examination the General Category student must have scored 50% marks in Physics, Biology, Chemistry and English along with passing in all individual subjects.
- For students belonging to ST /SC/OBC category, 40% marks in aggregate in Chemistry, Physics, Biology and English at intermediate level along with passing in all individual subjects.
- The candidate must not be more than 50% disabled or be in a state of manner that can interfere with the duties of a Veterinarian.
AIPVT Application Process:
After the AIPVT Prospectus and application form has been released, it can be obtained from the office of the Registrars of State Veterinary Councils or from selected branches of VIjaya Bank by making a payment of Rs 1500 for General/OBC candidates and Rs 750 for students belonging to SC/SC categories
If the prospectus is requested by post in that case a Demand Draft of Rs 1600 and Rs 850 need to be sent by General/OBC candidates and SC/SC categories respectively, which includes Rs 100 as postal charges.The Application Fees may be revised for this year.

The complete application form duly filled by the candidate must be sent to the Office of the Council by Speed/Registered post only.
Syllabus and Exam Pattern
There is no separate syllabus for the AIPVT Exam, the exam will be based on the syllabus of Class 11 & 12 or Equivalent of Indian University/ CBSE /State Board.
The exam will be of three hours and there will be 200 multiple choice questions, three marks will be awarded for each correct answer and one mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer and there will be no deduction for unanswered question.

Result:
The Tentative dates for the declaration of result of AIPVT 2015 will probably be in the month of July-August.
